Hello hello! I hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine and fine temperatures. I know I did. I love spring in New England. We can never be certain what we'll get.
No photos today. Instead, I want to talk about a really great web site. www.sparkpeople.com
Now, before you groan and tune me out - this is NOT your typical weight loss site. Yes, there are articles and food trackers and targets and whatnot. Sure. But that's not what makes Spark People so successful! What SparkGuy (the founder of SparkPeople) and his team have going for them is community.
Losing weight and staying fit is tough. It's often not so much fun. But having people who know and are willing to chat it up helps so much! Spark has teams (message groups) that fit everyone! For example, I lead a team that got together based on the date they joined Spark, plus I belong to one for Massachusetts folks, one for people with knee problems, and one for whole foods junkies. :) There are groups for everything from medical issues, to single parents to weight lifters to people-who-only-wear-purple-on-Fridays. :) (ok, maybe not the last one, but you could start one!)
Sparkpeople isn't one size fits all. It's what each member makes of it every day, and their success is everywhere.
So why not come join us? We love new people, and each of us have a story to tell.

Just do it! ;)

The Quabbin in March... and other ramblings
Song of the day: Eye of the Tiger - why? because I have several challenges in the works, and it's always good for keeping on when things aren't easy.
Okay, so we're going to try this one more time. Old posts have been archived. New stuff to come! I'm not sure exactly what will be here, but at least some of it will be photos of New England. I'm a sucker for shows like "Main Streets and Back Roads", and it shows in what I choose to photograph.
Today's topic... the Quabbin Reservoir in western Massachusetts. The Quabbin is the largest body of water in Massachusetts, taking the place of four towns. Many rumors abound regarding the reservoir, fueled by the remaining basements of the houses that were destroyed and the "roads to nowhere" that can be found all around the edge of the water.
Now, I'll admit these aren't my best pictures. It was ridiculously cold up there in early March, and it's hard to get good shots when your hands are shaking! I plan on heading back sometime soon, once the greenery really fills in.
This is from Outlook Point.

It was a lovely day, even if it was cold:
