The Quabbin in March... and other ramblings

Song of the day: Eye of the Tiger - why? because I have several challenges in the works, and it's always good for keeping on when things aren't easy.

Okay, so we're going to try this one more time. Old posts have been archived. New stuff to come! I'm not sure exactly what will be here, but at least some of it will be photos of New England. I'm a sucker for shows like "Main Streets and Back Roads", and it shows in what I choose to photograph.

Today's topic... the Quabbin Reservoir in western Massachusetts. The Quabbin is the largest body of water in Massachusetts, taking the place of four towns. Many rumors abound regarding the reservoir, fueled by the remaining basements of the houses that were destroyed and the "roads to nowhere" that can be found all around the edge of the water.

Now, I'll admit these aren't my best pictures. It was ridiculously cold up there in early March, and it's hard to get good shots when your hands are shaking! I plan on heading back sometime soon, once the greenery really fills in.

This is from Outlook Point.

It was a lovely day, even if it was cold:

I betcha it looks awesome once the foliage fills in! If this hot weather keeps up, you won't have to wait long! ;)
